STEPHANIE HARRIS

Stephanie Harris is an English instructor, writer, and lifelong advocate for the power of the written word. She holds a Master’s degree in English with a specialization in Literature from the University of South Dakota and has taught English and writing at a variety of institutions, including Lake Area Technical Institute, the University of South Dakota, North American Indian University at Crazy Horse, Eastern Gateway Community College, and Grand Canyon University.

In addition to her teaching career, Stephanie Harris has worked as an SEO content writer, creating professional content for law firms nationwide, a finance and accounting recruiter, an ACT/SAT/LSAT prep tutor, and an associate examiner marking for the International Baccalaureate exam. Her diverse professional experiences have strengthened her belief that writing is an essential skill across virtually every career field. Whether communicating through a report, email, logbook, business document, or creative work, she believes effective writing helps individuals communicate with confidence and professionalism.

Her love of literature, language, and travel began in her hometown of Norfolk, Nebraska. As an undergraduate student, she studied French abroad and traveled throughout Western Europe. While tutoring French high school students in conversational English, she discovered her passion for teaching and found that education offered the opportunity to combine her love of language, literature, and helping others.

Outside the classroom, Stephanie Harris manages a pop-up bookshop specializing in “Blind Date with a Book” gifts, owns and helps operate a construction company specializing in fencing, trenching, and windbreaks, and she is currently writing three books with hopes of pursuing publication.

Mrs. Harris and her husband recently settled in Hettinger, North Dakota, where they are raising their family. She enjoys traveling, reading, writing, books, spending time with her children, and their two dogs, Bruce and Daisy.

As an educator, Stephanie is committed to creating a supportive learning environment where students can develop practical writing skills, discover their individual voices, and gain confidence in their ability to communicate effectively. She looks forward to helping students recognize that writing is not simply an academic requirement—it is a skill they can carry with them into every aspect of their professional and personal lives.
