New Photography Class Finds Focus

Hettinger Public School has recently launched its brand-new Photography class, giving students the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of photography while developing their own creative style. Students have been learning the basics of camera controls, including shutter speed, aperture, ISO, and white balance, along with composition principles such as line, shape, space, emphasis, balance, and texture.

Each week, students spend time outside the classroom capturing photographs, followed by editing, classroom discussions, and critiques. The class has already produced some fantastic work, and it has been exciting to see the creativity and talent these students are bringing to their photography.

As the year continues, students will continue building their skills and exploring new ways to use photography to tell stories and capture the world around them.
