Oh man, construction is happening fast! The new concrete is moving right along, the science lab has been stripped, and work downstairs is underway. We’ll share updates as construction continues and can’t wait to see the final product come together. These walls have educated so many kids over the years — now it’s time for a little change and a fresh new chapter!
Tuhy Speaks with Drivers Ed Students
Trooper Tuhy is in his 25th year of speaking with our Driver Education class, continuing a long-standing tradition of sharing important driver safety education with students.
Our Driver Ed program brings together students from Hettinger, Bison, Scranton, Belfield, and Fargo, giving them the opportunity to learn from real-world experience and law enforcement insight.
We appreciate Trooper Tuhy’s continued time and commitment to helping prepare young drivers with the knowledge they need to stay safe on the road.

We truly appreciate the time, knowledge, and real-life experience he shares with our students each year. These conversations help make safe driving lessons meaningful and memorable for our future drivers.
Century of Accreditation
Hettinger Elementary School announced today the renewal of its accreditation, marking a century since the initial achievement of this distinction in 1919. Hettinger Elementary School’s accreditation is granted by Cognia™, a nonprofit organization that provides quality assurance for schools, school districts, and education service providers.
“It is an honor and a privilege to stand with Hettinger Elementary School today as we reach this historic milestone. School accreditation as conferred by the Cognia Global Accreditation Commission provides a nationally recognized mark of quality for our school,” shared Superintendent Moser. “Being able to maintain this distinction for one hundred years demonstrates to our community our longstanding commitment to excellence, our openness to review and feedback, and our desire to be the best we can be on behalf of the students we serve.”
Throughout its 125 years of service, Cognia, formerly AdvancED, has globally recognized schools that meet rigorous standards focused on productive learning environments, equitable resource allocation for the needs of learners, and effective leadership. Earning accreditation from the Cognia Global Accreditation Commission is a recognition that the school meets Cognia Standards of Quality and maintains a commitment to continuous improvement. To earn Cognia accreditation, a school also must implement a continuous process of improvement and submit to external review. Schools in good standing can maintain their accreditation for a five-year term.
